Bridget Syms lives in North Norfolk and has worked as a professional ceramics restorer since 1983. She has always had a passion for art and studied life drawing in the studio of Rod Hamer for a number of years. Running a busy restoration business time was always in short supply and although never giving up on her painting, a broken arm in 2012 gave her the opportunity to do what she had always wanted to for years, paint all day long. This time allowed her to consolidate her style that reflects her view of the world. She is influenced by such artists as Ghirlandaio, the Limbourg brothers, Stanley Spencer and Andrew Wyeth.
Bridget’s other passion in life is dogs, her own whippets feature in many of her paintings along with tessellated tiles, birds with attitude and the odd cabbage.
These days customers are having to wait a little longer for their china restoration!
