WENDY MOULD – THE ART OF MUSIC
Music has been the inspiration behind the collection of twelve new paintings that will be exhibited in the Red Dot Gallery during October. Wendy has selected many of her favourite compositions then interpreting them with her singular imagination and unique style – the resulting collection takes the viewer on a year round journey with each panel or canvas representing the individual months.
BARRIE MORRIS – STRANGELY DRAWN TO NORFOLK
A COLLECTION OF ORIGINAL PAINTINGS WHICH EXPLORE MANY OF THE ARCHITECTURAL & NATURAL TREASURES OF NORFOLK.
Artist Barrie Morris has spent the last eighteen months exploring both the well known and the somewhat obscure architectural facets of Norfolk – from the mystical magnificence of Cromer’s iconic pier to the enigma of Blickling’s pyramid, the conundrum of the mausoleum in the woods above Letheringsett to the welcoming familiar Lifeboat House of Blakeney Point. To each of the buildings he has chosen, a natural narrative has been incorporated involving the likely flora and fauna of the location with perhaps the odd twist!
‘Strangely Drawn to Norfolk’ perfectly describes the mystery of the often quiet and isolated places that beckon us to explore and return once more. Lonely ruins, iconic churches, dark marshland and windswept shores. A sense of the gothic rests in many of the paintings, night and nocturnal creatures adding to a chill of dusk. In contrast, others are bathed in sparkling sunlight that celebrate all that summer might bring, screaming swifts, red admirals and diving peregrine falcons.
A veritable treasure trove that invites both visitor and resident to see Norfolk in a new light!
Now located in the centre of Holt at 7 Fish Hill. The Gallery is just a few steps away from the High Street and opposite Bakers & Larners as the crow flies!
