Lizzie completed this beautiful painting during the spring of this year, 2021. It never made it onto the gallery walls as it was purchased by a very eager collector almost immediately it was delivered to us. ‘Floralia’ was an ancient Roman festival celebrating ‘Flora’ the goddess of flowers and thus we had our very own display of delightful blooms! For those already familiar with Lizzie Riches’s work will be aware of the earlier painting and silkscreen/serigraph entitled ‘Flora’ – both original and all 100 sheets of the edition are now sold.
It has been decided to commission ‘Floralia’ as a silkscreen/serigraph which Quentin King and his team at Harwood King Fine Arts have commenced – the limited edition will once again comprise 100 sheets each signed and numbered by Lizzie. We anticipate there will once again be some 40 +/- screens involved in the making of this edition. The publication date is now set for December 1st ’21 allowing the printers 5 months to work their magic.
